Dental Implants

I have been restoring missing teeth with dental implants since the late 1970s. The technology has been improved considerably since then, making implants an extremely reliable treatment option. They are so reliable and so attractive, that they are often the best treatment choice for teeth with severe gum disease or failed root canals.

In years past we would often offer extreme solutions, that were the only way to save teeth that otherwise would have to be extracted. These treatments could involve periodontal surgery, orthodontic tooth movement, and crowning multiple teeth. The series of treatments often took many months of uncountable appointments. The results were sometimes questionable, and resulted in teeth that lasted only a relatively few years. It was the best dentistry could offer at that time.

Today's implant technologies allow us to offer solutions that last reliably for many years for almost every patient. It has become much easier for patients to make treatment decisions that result in functional, attractive, and long-lasting teeth. There are books that can answer your general questions about dental implant restorations. I have added convenient links at the bottom of this page so you can see these books at amazon.com.

If you have specific questions about your ability to benefit from implants to replace missing teeth, call me. If you have some teeth with questionable prognosis, and want to know if you should choose root canal treatments and/or periodontal surgery, or choose implants, call for an evaluation appointment. I will spend as much time as you need to answer your questions and help you plan appropriate treatment for yourself.
