Medical Insurance Covers TMD

New Mexico law requires that all insurance companies that do business in New Mexico must cover TMJ disorders, but some insurers try to weasel out of their obligation. If this happens to you, we will provide you with some resources to dispute a denial of benefits.

We participate in two medical plans -- Presbyterian Medical Services and Lovelace. We are considering participating with other plans. Please tell us if you would like us to participate in your plan. We will, if possible. Some plans will not pay a fee that will allow us to pay our expenses and make a reasonable profit. We cannot participate in these plans, because without a reasonable profit, we cannot stay in business.

We do not participate in Medicare. If you are a Medicare recipient, the federal government says that you must sign an agreement with us that defines our financial relationship. You will not be reimbursed by Medicare for any fees we charge.

We will work with you to get the maximum possible benefit from your medical insurer, but your benefits may be limited by your plan, and not cover our entire fee. You are responsible for the full fee.
